Bus carrying more than 200kg of smelly animal fat caught

At 9:30 p.m. last night, May 25, while on a road traffic patrol duty, Team 61 of the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Police discovered a passenger car carrying more than 200kg of animal fat that gave off a foul odor.

Lieutenant Colonel Ha Huy Khang, Deputy Head of Team 61 (Traffic Police Department, Ha Tinh Province Police) said that at around 9:30 p.m. last night, May 25, while stopping a passenger bus with license plate 53S-6647 (running North-South) according to regulations, members of the team sensed a foul odor coming from the passenger's luggage compartment. Suspecting that the animal-carrying vehicle was giving off a foul odor, the patrol team asked the vehicle owner to open the luggage compartment doors for inspection.

As expected, during the inspection, the patrol team of the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Police discovered 4 sealed foam boxes filled with more than 200kg of animal fat that gave off a foul smell.

This is not the first time that traffic police on duty on National Highway 1A have discovered passenger vans carrying smelly animals of unknown origin. In the photo, the Traffic Police of Thua Thien Hue Province discovered a passenger van carrying tons of meat, organs, and live animals of unknown origin in September 2011.

When the vehicle owner, Nguyen Thanh Ty, residing in Kien Duc town, Dak Lap district, Dak Lak province, was ticketed, he was unable to present documents related to the amount of smelly animal fat mentioned above.

Last night, under the direction of the leader of the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Police, the patrol team completed the procedures to hand over the dirty fat-carrying vehicle to the Market Management Department of Ha Tinh province to serve the investigation and clarify the origin of this stinky animal fat.

Talk toPeople's Intelligence,Mr. Nguyen Dinh, Team Leader of Team 4 (Ha Tinh Market Management Department), the unit that directly received the above vehicle, said that immediately after receiving the vehicle, the team had the vehicle owner release all passengers, temporarily detain the owner and the vehicle to serve the investigation. "We will quickly clarify the origin of this dirty shipment, before working with other functional forces to destroy it according to regulations" - Mr. Khoa said.
