According to information provided by some of Macron's aides on April 24, this debate was televised nationwide on two channels. Previously, Ms. Le Pen's campaign director affirmed that "the debate needs to take place" because it will help voters have a clear view of the two candidates.

In the first round of the presidential election on April 23, although he did not have a solid foundation as a political party, candidate Macron, with his youthful, dynamic image and his stance of being willing to cross the boundaries of traditional parties to mobilize the strength of both left and right wings on the French political chessboard, won the most votes (23.75%) compared to the remaining 10 candidates. Meanwhile, his opponent, Ms. Marine Le Pen, ranked second (21.53%), also attracted voters' votes thanks to hitting the psychology of workers with his views against immigration, protecting French identity and restoring national sovereignty.

Both candidates will have two weeks of campaigning before entering the second round of the presidential election on May 7./.
