According to the results of the national exit poll released on the evening of July 21, the Servant of the People Party of incumbent Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky won the early parliamentary election held earlier that day.
The official exit polls show that only five parties have seats in the new Ukrainian parliament, with more than 5% of voters supporting them. President Zelensky's Servant of the People party is currently leading with 44.2%, while the Opposition Platform party is in second place with just 11.3%.
If the result is confirmed, it would be the highest voter turnout in Ukraine's history since the country declared independence in 1991.
Speaking after receiving this result, President Zelensky expressed his readiness to form a coalition with the newly formed Echo party to form a new government. According to the poll results, the Echo party of rock star Svyatoslav Vakarchuk received 6.5% of the vote.
A total of 10,551 voters participated in the national exit poll at 300 different polling stations. The statistical error is usually no more than 2.5% for the leading party and between 0.5-1% for other parties. However, the exit poll results only show the seats allocated to parties, which account for about half of the 450 seats in the National Assembly.
The remaining seats, elected directly by voters, will be decisive in how President Zelensky forms a government.
