The leader of the first round of elections in Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, is ready to debate incumbent President Petro Poroshenko, if his schedule as artistic director of the Kvartal 95 studio allows, the head of the election campaign headquarters, Dmitry Razumkov, said.

Earlier, Poroshenko's campaign leader Igor Gryniv said that the current president would take part in a televised debate if there was a second round of voting. Later, Zelensky said he was ready to debate Poroshenko.

“Yes, of course, if Vladimir declares that he is ready for this debate. The only thing I don’t quite understand is the schedule, you’ll have to ask the press service (of the Kvartal 95 studio) about that,” Razumkov was quoted as saying by “Obozrevatel.”

According to Razumkov, "Zelensky is ready for the debate, he has talked about it, but how and when this will happen is another question."
