Election of Head and Deputy Head of the People's Jury of Nghe An province for the 2021 - 2026 term
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 23, the first meeting of the People's Jury of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term convened, announced the Resolution on confirming the results of the election of the People's Jury, and proceeded to elect the Head and Deputy Head of the People's Jury.

Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the conference.
The conference heard the announcement of Resolution 29/HĐND dated July 4, 2021 on confirming the election results of the People's Council of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term, including 32 People's Council members.

Of which, 23 are male jurors, 9 are female jurors; 11 are re-elected jurors, 21 are participating for the first time; 16 are working jurors, 16 are retired jurors; 100% of elected jurors have university degrees, many jurors have master's and doctoral degrees.
The conference also elected the Head and Deputy Head of the People's Jury, based on the following criteria: People's Jury must have prestige, experience in adjudication work and working time conditions; have experience in legal work, and have the ability to lead and organize the work of the People's Jury.

As a result, the Conference unanimously elected 1 Head of the Delegation and 2 Deputy Heads of the Provincial People's Jury. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien - former Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation for the 2016-2021 term was elected to hold the position of Head of the Delegation; Ms. Hoang Thi Huong - former Chief Inspector of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Mr. Tran Van Mao - Former Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation for the 2016-2021 term held the position of Deputy Head of the Delegation with 100% of the votes.

In his acceptance speech, the new Head of the People's Jury, Nguyen Thanh Hien, promised that in his new position, he would strive to overcome limitations and shortcomings in the management of the People's Jury, expand relationships, and create conditions for the group's activities to be more effective.
Along with that, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien affirmed that he would promote the advantages of the Jury, with high professional qualifications and many years of experience in various fields, and at the same time expressed his wish to continue to receive the attention, support and facilitation of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council for the People's Jury of Nghe An province to successfully complete its tasks in this term, strengthen supervision activities, and collect public opinions on trial activities to improve the quality of the Jury's activities as well as the quality of trials in the coming time.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council assigned tasks to the Head, Deputy Head of the Delegation and the People's Jurors, requesting each People's Juror to thoroughly and fully implement the responsibilities prescribed in Resolution 1213/2016/UBTVQH13, develop and implement the delegation's operating regulations, participate in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, ensure the principle of judging the right person, the right crime, contributing to maintaining legal discipline.
When participating in trials, People's Jurors need to prepare carefully right from the beginning of studying the case files, resolutely not allowing wrongful convictions or letting criminals escape, and at the same time actively participate in educating and disseminating the law, improving the quality of court trials...
In addition, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh proposed that the Provincial People's Court study and organize training for People's Jurors online, organized at two levels, contributing to further improving the quality of activities of the People's Jury.
