(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, the Nghe An Border Guard has successfully rescued more than 500 people and 68 vehicles in accidents at sea.

On the morning of October 30, the Border Guard Command held an online conference to review the work of preventing, combating, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, and search and rescue. Major General Do Danh Vuong - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command chaired the conference.

At Nghe An bridge, Colonel Tran Hai Binh - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard presided.

Over the past time, the Border Guard Party Committee, Party committees and commanders at all levels have thoroughly and seriously implemented the Central Military Commission's resolution on preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, and search and rescue; closely following the direction to concretize the resolution and action program in accordance with the actual situation in the unit and locality.

At the Nghe An Border Guard, in the past time, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee has led and directed the effective implementation of natural disaster prevention and control, rescue, and relief, contributing to reducing human and property damage, protecting the environment, and stabilizing the lives of soldiers and people. The Provincial Border Guard has mobilized nearly 7,000 officers and soldiers; 73 ships, 98 boats, 28 cars, 571 motorbikes to coordinate with authorities and local forces to organize search and rescue, fight forest fires, and overcome tornadoes occurring in the area.

The provincial Border Guard force has rescued 503 people and 68 vehicles safely ashore and directly propagated and prevented boats from operating at sea when there was a sea ban; arranged and placed boats in storm shelters according to regulations; was ready to rescue and assist boats at sea, on rivers and on canals; helped people overcome floods, built and repaired more than 1,000 houses, harvested 1,012 hectares of crops of all kinds...

In their speeches at the conference, delegates pointed out the advantages and difficulties in implementing Resolution No. 44-NQ/DU of the Border Guard Party Committee and Resolution No. 689-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, and search and rescue. In addition, they proposed a number of practical solutions to continue implementing the Central Military Commission's resolutions.
