Nghe An Border Guard: Launching a high-intensity campaign to combat human trafficking.
(Baonghean.vn)- From July 1st to August 31st, 2013, the Nghe An Border Guard Command launched a high-intensity campaign to combat human trafficking within its border area.
The crackdown on human trafficking is part of Plan No. 561/KH-BCH BP. Accordingly, units on the two border guard lines of the province advised local Party committees and authorities, agencies, and departments to launch a widespread propaganda campaign among ethnic minority communities in border areas about the methods and tactics of human trafficking criminals, aiming to raise awareness and encourage active participation in preventing and combating human trafficking.
Simultaneously, border guards are focusing on implementing a comprehensive set of measures, closely monitoring all activities of human trafficking, kidnapping, and abduction of women and children. They are effectively conducting basic investigations, identifying key areas, villages, and hamlets that require concentrated efforts to combat these crimes. From this, they identify missing women and children, those absent for extended periods without explanation, and those suspected of being trafficked, requiring focused investigation. They also identify individuals, gangs, and networks involved in human trafficking and report this information to the Command Headquarters for the establishment of cases for prosecution.
Furthermore, the border guards will strengthen patrol and control activities, combining regular patrols with mobile, focused inspections to detect and apprehend criminals and rescue victims. They will closely coordinate with the police force in exchanging information, conducting operational plans, and establishing and combating special cases to prevent and dismantle inter-provincial human trafficking rings, thereby completing the border-inland security network. The Nghe An Border Guard will also compile a list of suspected human trafficking victims or those residing abroad to share with relevant authorities for verification and rescue.
