Nghe An Border Guard: Deploying border protection tasks in 2015
(Baonghean.vn) - On January 13, the Provincial Border Guard Command held a conference to review the border work in 2014 and deploy border work tasks in 2015. Major General Nguyen Canh Hien, Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard attended and gave a speech. Attending the conference were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Command, and leading officers of departments, offices, and units on the border and coastal areas.

Over the past year, the units have maintained good performance in managing and protecting the border and sea areas, firmly protecting sovereignty, territory and maritime security and safety. Properly implementing the project plan for embellishing and increasing the density of border markers; strengthening border foreign affairs activities, promptly coordinating to resolve issues arising in border management and protection; building and consolidating solidarity and friendship with the three neighboring provinces of Laos. Effectively fighting against all types of crimes to maintain security and order - social order and safety in border areas and sea areas.
Typically, 7 major drug cases were successfully fought. Evidence was seized: nearly 72 heroin cakes; 1 cake and 0.3 kg of marijuana; 0.1 g of crystal meth; 10 g of opium; 8,406 synthetic drug pills; 41 kg of opium plants and fruits; 1 CKC gun, 20 bullets; 5 flintlock guns; 3 cars; 11 motorbikes; 174,736,000 VND; 1,150 USD; 13 mobile phones... Arrested 4 cases/8 human trafficking subjects, rescued 9 victims; actively participated in building and consolidating political bases, developing economy, culture, society, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty in border and coastal areas, building an increasingly strong people's border defense posture. The conference set out tasks for 2015, focusing on: Focusing on innovation, improving the quality and effectiveness of working measures, firmly protecting the sovereignty, security and order, and social order and safety in border areas. Proactively grasping and handling the situation well; effectively fighting against all plots, methods and tricks of the enemy, reactionaries and all types of criminals. Participating in building and consolidating political bases, effectively developing the economy, culture and society in border areas; building a peaceful and friendly border, cooperating with Laos and effectively implementing border foreign affairs. Preparing and successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels.
Speaking at the Conference, Major General Nguyen Canh Hien, Deputy Commander, warmly praised the outstanding achievements of the Nghe An Border Guard that they have strived to achieve in the past year, and also frankly pointed out the limitations in some aspects of work. He requested the unit to focus on a number of contents such as: grasping and forecasting the internal and external situation closely, accurately and effectively; researching and creating breakthroughs to create impressions and highlights in the unit's activities; strengthening inspection, urging, management, maintaining strict discipline; preparing well for the organization of Party Congresses at all levels; and coordinating and cooperating well with Laos and related forces in the work.
At the conference, representatives of the units signed an emulation agreement to achieve many achievements in performing tasks in 2015. Authorized by the President, Major General Nguyen Canh Hien awarded the Second Class Military Exploit Medal to the PCTPMT Department and Lieutenant Cu Ba Po, a PCTPMT Detective; and the Third Class Military Exploit Medal to the Thong Thu Border Post for their outstanding achievements in performing tasks.
