Nghe An Border Guard: Building and repairing houses, giving savings books to poor households

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 13, the Nghe An Border Guard Command issued Plan No. 852 to implement a campaign to help, build and repair dilapidated, makeshift houses and give savings books to poor households in 3 communes in Western Nghe An to show the affection and responsibility of the provincial Border Guard officers and soldiers towards ethnic minorities in the border areas.

Nghe An Border Guard cooperates with local youth union to repair houses for families in difficult circumstances in border areas.

According to this plan, Nghe An Border Guard will support poor households in 3 communes: Mon Son, Con Cuong district, Bac Ly district, Ky Son district and Tam Hop district, Tuong Duong district. Of which, support will be provided for the construction of 5 new houses, each worth 40 million VND (2 houses in Bac Ly commune, 2 houses in Tam Hop commune and 1 house in Mon Son commune). Support will be provided for the repair of 14 houses, each worth 10 million VND (6 houses in Bac Ly commune, 6 houses in Tam Hop commune and 2 houses in Mon Son commune). On this occasion, 15 savings books will also be given away, each worth 5 million VND (6 books in Bac Ly commune, 5 books in Tam Hop commune, 4 books in Mon Son commune). The total cost for implementation is 415 million VND, taken from the fund mobilized from officers and soldiers in the unit and from benefactors and supporting enterprises. In addition, we also mobilize support from relatives and families' own funds to renovate and repair houses to help poor households overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

The implementation period starts from October 15 and ends on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army's traditional day and the 25th anniversary of the National Defense Day on December 22, 2014.
