(Baonghean.vn) - On November 3, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Border Guard Command organized the 8th Emulation Congress for Victory, period 2009-2014. Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of National Defense attended and directed the congress.

According to the report of the Organizing Committee, over the past 5 years, the emulation movement to win in the Border Guard force has been organized enthusiastically and widely, truly motivating collectives and individuals to overcome difficulties and hardships, be proactive and creative in performing all tasks well. The emulation movement to win has contributed to building a Border Guard force that is strong in politics, ideology and organization, contributing to the successful implementation of the task of managing and firmly protecting the sovereignty, border security and islands of the Fatherland.

From 2009 to present, the entire Border Guard force has 8 units awarded and one individual posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the renovation period (including Nghe An Border Guard), 3 collectives and one individual awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, 121 collectives and individuals awarded the Feat of Arms Medal and the Fatherland Protection Medal of various ranks and many other noble awards.
