For many days now, a number of Facebook accounts in Hai Phong have been calling on the online community to join in the search for a girl named Tran Thi Ngoc Ha (born 2004, residing in Hu Tri village, Vinh Quang commune, Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong), who is said to have left home on June 11.
According to a Facebook account believed to be a neighbor of Ha's family, the reason she left was because she could not bear the cruel treatment of her biological parents.
According to this account owner, Ha's parents often beat her for no reason, even culminating in pouring rotten rice on the floor and forcing her to eat it... Neighbors have advised Ha's parents many times, but Ha's parents still ignore them.
Another Facebook account said that Ha was a well-behaved, studious, and hard-working child. When they discovered that she had run away, neighbors mobilized to search for her all day, but her parents were indifferent and only searched briefly.
A leader of the People's Committee of Vinh Quang Commune, Vinh Bao District, confirmed on the afternoon of June 14 that the incident was true and said that Ha was born in 2004 and was a 7th grade student at Vinh Quang Secondary School. After receiving information that the child had run away, the commune sent officials to the family, school, and neighbors to grasp the situation and coordinate the search. However, to date, the child has not been found.
According to this leader, Ha's father is from Phu Tho, and her mother is from Vinh Bao, Hai Phong. Ha was born in Phu Tho. About 3 years ago, her whole family moved to this locality to live.
“Ha is a very obedient child, but I don’t understand why her parents often beat and mistreat her. Many times, village and commune union officials and teachers from the school came to her house to advise and remind her, but both of them ignored her,” said the commune leader.
