(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of May 16th, in Vinh City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the closing ceremony of the 7th Provincial Sports and Physical Education Congress in 2014. Attending the ceremony were Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Sports and Physical Education Congress; leaders, officials, coaches of sports delegations, referees, etc.

The 7th Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival took place from March to May 2014, with the participation of nearly 2,000 athletes from 21 districts, cities, and towns, as well as two units: the Provincial Police and the Provincial Military Command, competing in 18 sports. According to the Organizing Committee, compared to the previous Festival, the organization and the quality of achievements showed improvement, with some events breaking records, such as the men's 100m race, women's long jump, men's high jump, women's high jump, and men's 50m breaststroke. The Organizing Committee awarded 136 sets of medals to athletes who achieved high results at the Festival. |
