Closing of ASEM 10 Summit
After two working days, on the afternoon of October 17, the ASEM 10 Summit ended successfully, setting out specific directions and measures to enhance ASEM cooperation in the coming period.

The leaders also approved 27 new initiatives proposed by members and established 16 specialized cooperation groups to realize cooperation orientations in the period of 2014 - 2016. Among them, there are 3 new initiatives of Vietnam on "ASEM Workshop on Sustainable Water Management to Ensure Food Security"; "ASEM Youth Week: Stronger Action to Address the Challenge of Zero Hunger" and "Conference on Green Skills for Comprehensive and Sustainable Growth".
The conference appreciated the practicality of Vietnam's initiatives and many members joined in co-sponsoring.
At the Closing Ceremony, members welcomed and congratulated Mongolia for hosting the 11th ASEM Summit in 2016 and Luxembourg for hosting the 12th Foreign Ministers' Meeting in 2015, and affirmed their joint efforts to ensure the success of the Conferences. These are two important conferences, along with many other practical activities towards the 20th anniversary of ASEM (1996 - 2016).
After two days of intensive work, the 10th ASEM Summit ended successfully, setting out specific directions and measures to enhance ASEM cooperation in the coming period.
The positive results achieved at the Conference continue to affirm the role of ASEM as an important dialogue and cooperation mechanism, with many new and diverse cooperation initiatives, vividly demonstrating the common determination to strengthen the partnership between the two continents of Asia and Europe.
For Vietnam, the ASEM Forum continues to be an important inter-regional cooperation mechanism to promote economic, development and security interests and concerns as well as to enhance our country's position. All strategic partners, most comprehensive partners and free trade partners of our country are ASEM members. These are potential opportunities for ministries, sectors, localities and each citizen to take advantage of in the new development stage.
