Closing ceremony of the ethnic minority sports festival

(Baonghean.vn) - After 3 days of enthusiastic and exciting competition, with a spirit of honesty and nobility. On the afternoon of April 17, the Sports Festival of ethnic minorities in the mountainous region of Nghe An was a great success.

There were 12 mountainous districts in the whole province participating. The athletes brought home 20 first prizes, 20 second prizes and 25 third prizes. In which, the men's volleyball prize belonged to Quy Hop team; second prize went to Tuong Duong district, third prize went to Quy Chau and Que Phong; first prize went to Nghia Dan district in women's volleyball; second prize went to Quy Hop district; third prize went to Con Cuong and Thai Hoa town. The results showed that the districts won first prize for the whole Quy Hop district team; second prize went to Tuong Duong team, third prize went to Quy Chau team.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Information and Communications of the province and leaders of Quy Hop district awarded prizes to the first, second and third prize winning teams.

The new and outstanding feature of the Nghe An ethnic minority sports festival this year is that 100% of the mountainous districts have athletes participating in all competitions. Not only the quality of athletes but also the competition results are higher than previous years. The leaders of some districts and the people are very interested and enthusiastic in cheering for the athletes of their districts.

From the results achieved, the People's Committee of Nghe An province will select the best male and female volleyball athletes and teams to participate in the 2015 National Ethnic Minority Sports Festival in the Northern region./.
