Regarding the birth, specialist 2 Tran Ngoc Hai, Head of the General Planning Department of Tu Du Hospital, said that because the fetus was too large, doctors at Tu Du Hospital performed a cesarean section to help the baby be born. Both mother and child are safe. The baby is currently being cared for and closely monitored at the hospital's Neonatal Department.
It is known that the baby is the second child in the family. Ms. A's first child weighed 4.7 kg at birth.
"The normal weight of a baby at birth is about 2.5-3.5 kg. A baby born weighing 3 kg will need to be raised by its parents for 3.5 to 4 months to reach 6 kg," said Dr. Xuan.
