Rural concreting

(Baonghean) - When Uncle Ho was alive, when he built fences instead of brick walls, he said that we should plant hibiscus, which not only creates a cool green color but also provides food for raising goats and rabbits. When spring comes, the flowers bloom, adding beauty to the countryside garden, making the soul of the Vietnamese countryside more beautiful. However, nowadays, the countryside is being concreted.

The movement to build new rural areas is being directed and mobilized by Party committees and authorities at all levels to implement well. The rural and intra-field traffic systems have been built with the contribution of manpower and resources from the people. Hundreds of kilometers of roads have been built, contributing to beautifying the countryside and facilitating the circulation and transportation of goods. However, due to the misunderstanding that the policy of building new rural areas must be carried out on a large scale, many localities have almost concreted the entire rural infrastructure. From roads to fences of cultural works... are almost all concreted. Instead of wooden and bamboo gates are iron gates, instead of bamboo fences or man hao, hibiscus... are walls made of solid bricks and stones. And, to concretize the fence, rows of fruit trees and other green trees were cut down for construction, making the countryside hard and losing its beauty. The countryside now lacks the green of old trees. The image of the banyan tree, the well, and the communal house yard of the past creates the difference between the countryside and the city.

The policy of building new rural areas is to make Vietnamese countryside civilized and beautiful, but not to change or fade away the culture of Vietnamese villages.

Building new rural areas means inheriting and promoting the advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with Vietnamese national identity, so that the soul of the countryside and the character of Vietnamese villages will always be beautiful. To preserve that traditional beauty, please do not concretize the countryside...
