Asphalt concrete falls heavily on National Highway 1A
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 21, on National Highway 1A, from the intersection of Quan Hanh town, Nghi Loc district to near the railway overpass in Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city, there was a situation of asphalt concrete scattered on the road surface, posing a safety risk for vehicles participating in traffic.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Khanh - Head of Nghi Loc Road Management Department said, according to information from the people, at about 3:20 p.m. on February 21, there was a truck carrying asphalt concrete running from Nghi Loc to Vinh. The truck bed was full of materials, while the dump lid was not sealed.
When arriving at the Quan Hanh town intersection, the asphalt concrete on the car fell down. The density of the fallen material was quite dense from Km 450 at the Quan Hanh town intersection to Km 453, at the same level as the turn to the Nghe An Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital. The pieces of material were from 2 to 6 cm in diameter.

To ensure smooth road surface and safety for vehicles, Nghi Loc Road Management Department sent a team of workers to the scene to clean up spilled asphalt concrete.
According to Ms. Dau Thi Tuyet – in charge of the workers, the plastic pieces that fell on the road were still hot and were stuck to the road surface by the car tires. Manually scraping these pieces of material is very difficult and time-consuming.

The leader of Nghi Loc Traffic Department said that the unit has not yet found the vehicle that dropped asphalt concrete on the road.
