2-year-old boy drowned in kindergarten manhole
(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of September 3, after falling into a manhole behind the kindergarten in Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district, 2-year-old boy Nguyen Doan Nhan in Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district drowned and died.
At the time of the incident, Nhan and his twin brother Tai were studying in the kindergarten class at Nghi Truong commune kindergarten. When one teacher in charge of the class went to get lunch, the other teacher was in the room when Nhan and Tai left the classroom. A while later, the teachers did not see the two children anywhere, so they were panicked and went to look for them and informed their families.
When people ran to the back of the school cafeteria, they discovered that Nhan had fallen into a manhole. He was immediately taken to Nghi Loc District General Hospital for emergency treatment, but it was too late and Nhan died of drowning.

Nhan is the son of Nguyen Doan Giap and Vo Thi Huong, in hamlet 18, Nghi Truong commune. After the incident, the authorities of Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district, and the district education department visited and encouraged the family and asked the authorities to intervene and clarify the responsibilities of those involved.
On the afternoon of September 3, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, came to offer condolences, visit and encourage the boy's family and was present at Nghi Truong commune kindergarten.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Deputy Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, said that after the incident, the teachers in the school were quite panicked and worried. For now, the Department's working group has encouraged the school leaders and teachers to coordinate with the family to organize the funeral for the boy, and at the same time requested the construction unit to promptly take remedial measures, cover the manhole, and request the teachers in charge of the class to strengthen supervision of the children. After the authorities have an official conclusion on the responsibility of the collective and individuals, disciplinary action will be taken according to regulations.
It is known that behind the cafeteria of Nghi Truong commune kindergarten, there are 3 uncovered manholes, these holes have an area of nearly 1 square meter, the water is more than half a meter deep.
