2-year-old boy dies while staying with mother's lover

The boy was taken to the hospital by his mother but he had stopped breathing, his heart stopped, and had many wounds in his abdominal cavity.

On November 21, Thu Duc District Police (HCMC) took statements from relevant people and examined the scene of a rented room in Linh Xuan Ward to investigate the death of a 2-year-old boy. A large number of police officers are searching for the boy's mother's lover.

"The victim died with very serious injuries, suspected to be caused by external force. However, we have not yet determined whether the child was beaten or fell," an investigator said.

Previously, the boy was taken to Children's Hospital 2 in a state of cardiac arrest, multiple abdominal and head injuries, ruptured organs, bleeding and abdominal fluid.

According to the mother, on the morning of November 20, she went to work and left her child with her boyfriend in the rented room. A while later, her boyfriend called to inform her that there was an urgent matter at home. When she entered the room, she was shocked to see her child lying motionless on the floor, so she took him to a nearby hospital for emergency care.

Due to severe injuries, the child was transferred to Children's Hospital 2 but died.

Reporting to the police, the victim's mother said that a few months ago the boyfriend also beat the boy, breaking his leg./.
