2-year-old boy dies: Nursery owner detained
Authorities have detained the owner of the nursery where a 2-year-old boy died.
On the morning of June 7, Nha Trang City Police, Khanh Hoa Province, detained the owner of a spontaneous nursery in Phuoc Dong Commune to take statements and clarify the cause of the child's death on June 6.
According to initial information, Ms. Le Thi Luyen (35 years old, residing in Phuoc Thuong village) takes care of children at home for some households in the locality.
At around 9:30 a.m. on June 6, Ms. Luyen did not see her grandson Do Duy Khang (2 years old), son of Ms. Do Thi Bich Vy (living in the same village), so she went to look for him.
The nursery owner then found Khang motionless with his head in a bucket of water, so he took him to the emergency room. However, when they arrived at Phuoc Dong Commune Health Station, the doctors there said the child had already died.
Mr. Dang Loi - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, said that initially, the operation of this childcare facility has been temporarily suspended. The police are temporarily detaining the owner of this childcare facility for investigation and handling. This is a spontaneous, unlicensed facility.
