Boy's genitals bitten off by dog

(Baonghean) -Leaving her 2-month-old baby on the floor to wash it in the stream, when she returned home, Ms. Ven Me Kham (30 years old), a Khmu ethnic group member in Bao Nam 2 commune - Ky Son, was shocked because her child's genitals had been bitten off by a dog.

The incident happened on October 1. After discovering that the dog had bitten and swallowed her child’s penis, Ms. Kham hurriedly took her child and ran to town to catch a bus to Nghe An Children’s Hospital for treatment. When arriving at the hospital, Chich Thong Minh (Ms. Kham’s child) was in a state of severe blood loss and infection.

Because the penis was no longer there, it was not possible to reattach it to the child. After 3 days of treatment, the wound was no longer infected, urination of the penis began again, and the child was discharged from the hospital on October 4, but in the future the child will need further treatment as well as surgery to reconstruct the penis.

Through this incident, mothers with small children need to be careful if they keep dogs in the house.
