Black-streaked dwarf disease damages 43 hectares of summer-autumn rice
(Baonghean.vn) -Along with other pests and diseases, black-striped dwarf disease has now emerged and damaged 42.08 hectares of summer-autumn rice in Yen Thanh, Dien Chau and Do Luong districts.
Of these, 7 hectares are moderately infected and 7.33 hectares are severely infected, with a common disease rate of 1-3%, high in some places 15-20%, locally some fields have a disease rate of 30-40%. Currently, Summer-Autumn rice is in the stage of panicle initiation and flowering, the period when the disease clearly shows symptoms, so it is predicted that the infected area may increase. On the other hand, the density of the vector planthopper is also increasing, so the risk of the disease continuing to arise in the Summer-Autumn rice crop is very high.
Localities and people must regularly check. When detecting symptoms of black-striped dwarf disease, it is necessary to conduct inspections, surround and spray to kill planthoppers (if there is a high density of planthoppers) and uproot and destroy diseased plants to limit the spread over a large area.
