A 27-year-old man returning from Korea, treated for Covid-19 at Ninh Binh General Hospital, was discharged.

This is the first person to recover and be discharged from the hospital among 69 people infected with nCoV being treated.

Patients are treated according to the Ministry of Health's protocol combined with experience in treating patients with inflammatory symptoms such as boosting immunity and treating symptoms. Therefore, the patient's health improves day by day. Not only providing professional treatment, doctors also always ask questions and encourage the patient's spirit.

During the treatment, the hospital arranged 3 teams of doctors and medical staff to take care of the patient. The isolation room has a surveillance camera.

"Ninh Binh has only one Covid-19 patient. The success in treating this case is thanks to the efforts of all doctors over the past 13 days," said Director of Ninh Binh Department of Health Vu Manh Duong.

After being discharged from the hospital, the patient was taken to Thai Binh to continue health monitoring at a local medical facility.

"Patient 18" has been quarantined and treated in Ninh Binh since March 7 after returning from South Korea. He was tested for nCoV five times. The first two times were positive, the following three times, on March 14, March 16, and March 18, were all negative.

He thanked the doctors and said: "I feel lucky to have everyone's dedicated help."

Dr. Pham Van Hiep, Director of Ninh Binh General Hospital, said that both the province and the hospital continue to monitor suspected cases. Those who have been in close contact with and related to "patient 18" are all quarantined.

"We are not subjective, we do a good job of epidemic prevention in the area," said Dr. Hiep.

Vietnam has so far recorded 85 cases of infection, of which 16 have recovered since February, one has just recovered, and 68 are being treated. Most patients are in stable health, but two patients over 60 years old are in serious condition. The recently discovered cases are all people returning from abroad, mainly Europe and the US, and then spreading domestically.
