The last MERS patient in Korea is infected again.
The Korean Ministry of Health confirmed the case on October 12. According to the Korean Ministry of Health, the patient was transferred to Seoul National University Hospital in the morning with a high fever.
In addition, a total of 129 people, including doctors and relatives, who had contact with the patient have also been quarantined. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said the possibility of infection from this patient is low.

Since South Korea recorded its first MERS case on May 20, 186 people have been infected, including 36 deaths.
Since July 2015, South Korea has not recorded any new cases or deaths from MERS. On July 28, the South Korean Prime Minister declared the MERS epidemic “effectively” over.
As expected, after the last patient tested negative for MERS on October 1, the Korean Government plans to officially declare the end of the MERS epidemic on October 29 according to the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO), that is, 28 days after the last patient tested negative for MERS.
