On September 18, 2025, a medical miracle occurred at Nghe An Friendship General Hospital. A patient with stage 4 gastric antral cancer, metastasized to the liver and peritoneum (considered a "death sentence"), was saved thanks to a multi-modal, individualized treatment strategy. Patient TTQ (born in 1980, residing in Hai Chau commune) was diagnosed with stage IV gastric antral cancer with liver and peritoneal metastasis in 2023. Doctors applied a new technique, "partial gastrojejunostomy with tumor isolation," to operate on her. This new technique has been applied in Vietnam since 2019.
