"The head of the emergency shift did not monitor closely, assigned and arranged tasks appropriately to detect and handle patients in a timely manner when they had unusual developments. Some staff on the shift had poor service attitudes and communication with patients and relatives," Dr. Viet shared.

With these comorbidities, the patient is at high risk of cardiovascular complications such as myocardial infarction.

The doctor who initially examined the patient and the head of the emergency shift on the night of July 9 have been suspended. The hospital's professional council has been established to examine the process and conclude professional errors before determining disciplinary action against the individuals who committed the violations.
