Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has successfully performed a cesarean section for a pregnant woman suffering from two very dangerous conditions: placenta previa and placenta accreta, which pose a high risk of threatening the life of the mother and fetus during delivery.

NTHT (36 years old, Vinh city) has 3 children, with a history of 2 normal deliveries and 1 cesarean section due to placenta previa. In her 4th pregnancy, at 22 weeks, the mother was diagnosed with central placenta previa, and was monitored for placenta accreta Acreta.

The pregnant woman was consulted and closely monitored by doctors at the Center for Prenatal and Neonatal Screening, Diagnosis, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital... At 37 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy, the pregnant woman experienced vaginal bleeding and was admitted to the hospital for cesarean section.

Anticipating that this would be a dangerous surgery, with possible complications during the surgery for both mother and child, the Obstetrics Department proactively prepared a plan, carefully estimated blood products, equipment, and supplies, and carefully consulted with specialists in Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and Neonatal Resuscitation to ensure the surgery was performed effectively and safely.

On July 24, the pregnant woman T. underwent a cesarean section. The team made an incision in the uterus to deliver the baby. After birth, the baby suffered from respiratory depression. Immediately, the doctors of the Neonatal Intensive Care Department performed a balloon compression using an oxygen mask and performed the necessary interventions. After 30 seconds, the baby was able to cry, had a good spontaneous breathing rate, good reflexes and muscle tone, pink skin, regular heart rate, and stable health.

On the surgical team's side, the obstetricians meticulously separated each piece of placenta that had spread to the opening in the cervix; determined to achieve the "dual goal" of both removing the placenta and preserving the mother's uterus. After nearly 2 hours, thanks to careful preparation and smooth coordination between the specialties; the surgery was successful, both mother and child were safe. The baby boy was born weighing 2,800 grams.

On the 5th day after surgery, the health of both mother and child was stable and they were discharged from the hospital./.
