Nghe An Oncology Hospital becomes the final hospital in the North Central region

With the new role: "Nghe An Oncology Hospital is responsible for training, transferring, coordinating, and providing technical expertise to medical examination and treatment facilities in the region and implementing the assigned tasks and directions of the Ministry of Health" (Article 2-Decision 2223/Decision-BYT).

This event is an important milestone, affirming the brand and results after comprehensive development efforts of Nghe An Oncology Hospital.

To achieve that result, after 14 years of establishment and development, thanks to the determination of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and the close direction of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Director of Nghe An Oncology Hospital, many great achievements have been achieved in training activities, technology transfer, scientific research cooperation, etc.

The hospital's professional development work is always a top priority, contributing to improving the quality of medical services and meeting the increasing needs of the people. From diagnosis, interventional treatment, surgical treatment, internal medicine treatment, radiotherapy, most of the technical services at the central level can be performed.

The hospital always pays attention to human resource development in parallel with investment in modern equipment, to soon become a high-tech center in the heart of Vinh city, contributing to making Vinh city a high-tech center in the North Central region in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 39/NQ-TW of the Politburo.

Over the years, the hospital has always paid attention to human resource development in parallel with investing in modern equipment. In addition to a team of doctors with high medical ethics and bright medical skills, the hospital has continuously invested in the most modern equipment in the North Central region such as: SPECT/CT system, 3D mammography, immunohistochemistry system, 64-128-slice CT machine, 1.5 Tesla MRI system, Maxio robot, endoscopic ultrasound system, fully automatic testing system... Thanks to these devices, the hospital has successfully deployed advanced techniques, specialized techniques that could previously only be performed at central hospitals such as: Lung biopsy under the guidance of Maxio robot, specialized interventional radiology techniques such as: Radiofrequency ablation of liver tumors, lung tumors (RFA), immunohistochemistry staining and tumor gene sequencing, thereby effectively applying targeted therapies and immunotherapy in cancer.

In particular, with two modern radiotherapy systems including the Precise and Synergy Platform systems, the hospital immediately deployed many high-tech radiotherapy techniques, notably intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), which helps achieve maximum treatment efficiency at the tumor while minimizing damage to nearby healthy organs. From here, a multimodal treatment regimen for cancer has been completed.

Currently, on average, the hospital receives and treats about 1,000 patients every day, not only from Nghe An province but also from neighboring provinces such as Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa... This is a testament to the increasing demand for high-quality oncology medical services in the North Central region. As a tertiary hospital, Nghe An Oncology Hospital is increasingly asserting its pioneering position in the North Central region in general and Nghe An province in particular.

In the coming time, to be worthy of the task assigned by the Ministry of Health, Nghe An Oncology Hospital will continue to invest synchronously in many aspects. The hospital is urgently completing the Nghe An Oncology Hospital project (phase 2) with a total construction floor area of ​​75,000m²with the main building with a scale of 1,400 beds with a total investment of 1,259 billion VND. In parallel with the construction work, the hospital continues to develop high-quality human resources and invest in many other new modern equipment such as: Cyclotron radioactive isotope production system, Pet-Ct system, next-generation gene sequencing system (NGS), vascular intervention system, ... thereby promoting and inheriting the good traditions of the health sector, the successes achieved to continue to innovate and develop, striving for the goal of "Comprehensive development - Lighting up trust - Steadfast reputation".
