Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital: Developing in the direction of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy
(Baonghean) - After 55 years of construction and development, Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital has affirmed its position in the system of medical facilities of the province; fulfilling the noble mission of treating and caring for people's health and researching, preserving and developing the province's prestigious traditional medicine and pharmacy.
Journey to fulfill a noble mission
Carrying out the mission of taking care of patients' health, with the motto "All for high efficiency in medical examination and treatment, meeting patients' expectations", has made positive changes to Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital; becoming a trusted medical address for people in and outside the province.
Up to now, the appearance of the Hospital has clearly changed from the common space to the departments and rooms, with the infrastructure system being invested in spacious and modern; medical equipment is increasingly synchronized and advanced; the quality of medical examination and treatment and medical services are focused on development.
The team of cadres, doctors, nurses and medical staff have promoted their capacity, actively innovated their service style and attitude; dedicated and responsible in treating and caring for patients. Thanks to that, since the beginning of the year, the number of patients coming to the hospital for examination and treatment has increased dramatically compared to the same period last year.

At the end of 1974, the Hospital left the Yen Thanh evacuation area and returned to Vinh city (in Phong Toan - Hung Dung). In 1976, Nghe An merged with Ha Tinh, at this time, the Hospital was renamed Nghe Tinh I Traditional Medicine Hospital. The Hospital's activities were developed in terms of scale, area of treatment and welcomed an increasing number of patients for treatment.
During the period 1978 - 1990, the hospital continued to increase to 200 inpatient beds and 50 outpatient beds, with 163 staff and workers; meeting the medical examination and treatment needs of the people of Nghe Tinh, neighboring provinces and Laos (Xieng Khouang province).

At the end of 1990, Nghe Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital I was separated and renamed to its old name - Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital. In 1999, the hospital was renamed Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital and was upgraded from Grade III to Grade II by the Ministry of Health and the Provincial People's Committee in 2003.
Over half a century of development, with many ups and downs, the hospital's staff, doctors, nurses and employees are always determined to overcome all difficulties and fulfill their noble mission. Carrying out the core tasks of the health sector, the hospital always identifies improving the quality of medical examination and treatment and treatment effectiveness as the basic goal to strive for.

With a team of experienced and highly specialized doctors and medical staff, along with the support of higher-level hospitals, over the past time, Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital has promoted its strengths and improved the effectiveness of traditional medicine treatment methods.
Along with strengthening the coordination between Traditional Medicine and modern medicine, receiving and transferring new techniques such as: treatment and control of spinal pain, stroke sequelae of spinal trauma,...
Thanks to that, the Hospital has increasingly affirmed its reputation and trust with patients inside and outside the province. In 2018, Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital examined and treated 7,560 patients; the recovery and improvement rate reached over 99%. In particular, the Oriental medicine method effectively treats some typical diseases such as: cerebrovascular accident, facial nerve palsy... has created the brand mark of the Hospital.
With the achievements over the past 55 years, the Hospital was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal (1985); Second Class Labor Medal for the first time (2004) and the second time (2013); andMany Certificates of Merit awarded by the Ministry of Health and the Provincial People's Committee.
Striving to achieve the standards of a Grade II Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy General Hospital
The hospital is currently aiming to build a complete Grade II provincial Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy General Hospital with a structure of 320 beds; the hospital quality reaches a complete level of 3.0; continuing to innovate and improve the quality of medical examination and treatment services, gradually building and perfecting a green - clean - beautiful hospital. The hospital operates under a mechanism of full autonomy in regular expenditure (group II according to Decree 85/2012/ND-CP).

To achieve the set goals, according to Mr. Ho Van Thang - Director of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital, the Hospital focuses on synchronously implementing solutions: Continuing to innovate leadership methods, focusing on quality management, investing in facilities, attracting and training high-quality human resources, and coordinating with central and specialized hospitals to deploy specialized techniques; to continue to deploy new and effective treatment methods. The Hospital increases the production and supply of drugs and medicinal herbs to ensure quality and follow the correct procedures; in order to proactively provide pharmaceuticals to serve patients.
It is known that since the beginning of the year, the Hospital has been actively coordinating with leading experts in upper-level hospitals, the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy, sending experts to support, in order to provide the best medical services to people right at the facility, meeting the maximum needs of patients, as well as providing on-site professional training for staff; in order to minimize the number of patients having to be transferred to higher levels.
Along with the modern techniques being deployed such as: PH for paralyzed patients, stroke... The hospital continues to develop strongly, perfecting new techniques, specializing in the following specialties: Stroke, rehabilitation, drug production...
