According to Sputnik, the Russian military "launched a lightning and precise strike on the area controlled by Jabhat al Nusra in Idlib province, where the Su-25 aircraft was shot down."
According to data intercepted from radio waves, more than 30 Jabhat al-Nusra fighters were killed.
Previously, on February 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a Russian Su-25 aircraft was shot down in Idlib province in Syria. The pilot managed to parachute out but later died while fighting with terrorists.
It is understood that the pilot managed to report parachuting into an area controlled by Jabhat al-Nusra militants.
The Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, together with the Turkish representative responsible for the Idlib de-escalation zone, are taking measures to return the body of the Russian pilot.
