Boyfriend tricked and sold to China
With her boyfriend from Hai Phong to Quang Ninh to find work, Ms. Hua was unexpectedly sold to China but luckily escaped.
On the afternoon of August 23, at the demarcation line of Bac Luan bridge, the Border Guard Station of Mong Cai International Border Gate (Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh) received Ms. Hua (24 years old, residing in Vinh Lac commune, Luc Yen district, Yen Bai).
Ms. Hua was rescued earlier by the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station in coordination with the Fangchenggang Border Police Team (Dongxing City, China).
On August 10, the Mong Cai International Border Guard Station received a report that Ms. Hua went with her unnamed boyfriend from Hai Phong to Quang Ninh to find work and then went missing.
On August 16, authorities received information that a Chinese family was taking care of a Vietnamese woman who had just escaped from human traffickers. After investigating the matter, authorities determined that Ms. Hua had been sold to China by a Vietnamese person, so they completed the procedures to bring her back to Vietnam.
