According to documents from the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police, after being wanted, Le Van Nam changed his name to Le Duy Thanh and then fled to the northern border provinces. During the 9 years of hiding, this subject continuously changed his residence to avoid being caught by the police.

On July 26, after receiving information about a subject named Le Duy Thanh with similar identifying characteristics to Le Van Nam who was buying and selling and trading at the Ta Lung border gate area, Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang province, the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police sent a working group directly to Cao Bang to verify and clarify.

Through professional measures, the detectives identified Le Duy Thanh as Le Van Nam - the subject wanted for the crime of "fraudulent appropriation of property". Detectives of the Wanted Police Team of the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police coordinated with Cao Bang Province Police and the Border Guard Station of Ta Lung International Border Gate, Quang Hoa District, Cao Bang Province to arrest the subject while he was lining up to go to the other side of the border.

Currently, Le Van Nam has been extradited to Thanh Hoa to serve the investigation and handling of crimes.
