Responding to the press on September 28, Mr. Dang Minh Khanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of Huong Hoa District Party Committee (Quang Tri) confirmed that he had submitted a request to the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of Huong Hoa District Party Committee to request leave from work for medical treatment.
Mr. Khanh said that he has worked and served in his home district for nearly 36 years, holding many positions such as an officer of the District Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Deputy Director of the Political Training Center, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee... "No matter what position I hold, I always excellently complete all assigned tasks," Mr. Khanh wrote.

Informing reporters, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Huong Hoa District Party Committee said that on September 27, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Standing Member, Head of the Organization Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee worked with the Standing Committee of the Huong Hoa District Party Committee and announced the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on transferring Mr. Khanh to work at the Provincial Ethnic Committee, holding the position of Deputy Head of the Committee.
At the same time, Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee also announced the conclusion of transferring Mr. Vo Thanh - Chairman of the District People's Committee to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Huong Hoa District Party Committee.
After receiving the Provincial Party Committee's plan announcement, Mr. Khanh submitted a request to the higher-level leaders for consideration and not to transfer or rotate his case due to poor health and only having more than 2 years of work left.

“However, my application was not considered by my superiors while I myself have type 2 diabetes, high blood fat, blood pressure, prostate enlargement, chest pain, and coronary artery disease risk.
I found myself not healthy enough to continue working…and I would like to resign from October 1, 2017 to seek medical treatment,” Mr. Khanh’s application stated.
According to the Deputy Secretary of Huong Hoa District Party Committee, he was very sad because his request was not approved by his superiors.
“I know my illness, I have to live with it for the rest of my life. Meanwhile, if I go back down there (Dong Ha City - PV), I will not be able to ensure that my diet, lifestyle, and travel will continue to get sick, have complications, and possibly die early,” Mr. Khanh shared./.
