Fined 7.5 million VND for picking up lost property and not returning it

After the passenger reported losing the wallet, the Aviation Security force checked the security camera system and discovered a woman had picked up the wallet as reported.

On May 5, information from Noi Bai International Airport (CHK) said that a woman named Do Thi Lien was just fined 7.5 million VND because after picking up a passenger's wallet at the airport, she did not report it to the authorities and deliberately took it.

Specifically, the staff of Noi Bai Aviation Security Center received information from a passenger named Weatley Shophie (25 years old, British nationality) from Noi Bai to Bangkok International Airport or Don Muong Airport. This passenger dropped a wallet on Island A, 3rd floor of Terminal T2, Noi Bai International Airport.

Upon receiving the information, the Aviation Security force checked the security camera system and discovered a woman (later declared as Do Thi Lien (54 years old, often present at Noi Bai airport to pick up trash and clean) picked up the wallet as reported.

Ms. Lien later admitted to picking up the red wallet without reporting it. Due to the lack of aggravating or mitigating circumstances, the Northern Airport Authority decided to fine her VND7.5 million and force Ms. Lien to return the property.
