After people's complaints, Nghe An Department of Health established an inspection team and punished many cosmetic establishments in the area that were operating illegally.

On October 30, a leader of the Department of Health said that the unit had just sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee on the results of the inspection and handling by the Inspection Team regarding compliance with legal regulations on the provision of medical examination and treatment services; and cosmetic services. This move took place after many peoplefeedback on the provision of aesthetic services, medical examination and treatment at some unqualified facilities.

According to the inspection report, at the TATA beauty salon business (No. 37, Nguyen Sy Sach Street, Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City), the team discovered that this facility provided medical examination and treatment services without a medical examination and treatment license. The team then drew up a record of a fine of 45 million VND and suspended operations for 18 months.

At the business household HTK Vietnam Export Facility (address 26C Nguyen Thai Hoc, Doi Cung Ward, Vinh City), the delegation discovered that this facility had advertised medical examination and treatment services without a license to operate medical examination and treatment or a certificate to practice medical examination and treatment. This facility was fined 35 million VND and forced to delete the advertisement of medical examination and treatment services on its Facebook page.

In addition, according to Mr. Tran Nguyen Truyen - Chief Inspector of the Department of Health, at the time of inspection, the team discovered that some facilities had laser and wave machines. However, the owners of the facilities confirmed that these machines were purchased and committed not to be used, so the team did not have enough basis to conclude whether these facilities used laser and wave machines on customers or not. Therefore, it was not possible to impose penalties.

“In addition, there are a series of beauty salons that have closed and stopped operating after receiving complaints from citizens, so the Department of Health cannot carry out inspection and handling work according to regulations,” Mr. Truyen said.

Among these, there is Berry Clinic cosmetic facility (No. 06 Mai Hac De, Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city). This is the facility that Nghe An Newspaper reported on at the end of August.Woman hospitalized after beauty treatment at Berry Clinic International Aesthetic Institute. After Nghe An Newspaper reported, this beauty salon has temporarily stopped operating. However, many customers said that they had paid this salon for cosmetic services but before completing the treatment, the salon had closed.

“We are looking for the owner of this facility to complain but have not been able to contact them. When we paid, they promised that the service would be completed in multiple sessions, but after only one session, they suddenly texted to inform us that the facility would be closed for 2 to 3 weeks for upgrades and repairs. But it has been almost 2 months and we still haven’t seen any activity again. We also cannot contact the staff. This is a violation of the contract,” a Berry Clinic customer complained./.
