Mr. Thang affirmed that thanks to the patriotic emulation movement, the country has overcome all difficulties and achieved miracles that are admired by the world. The city has always been a leading example with many effective activities that have never been modeled anywhere, demonstrating a very flexible mindset.

However, according to Mr. Thang, although we have gone through proud stages, but to assess soberly and strictly, we still have to make great efforts to hope to escape the situation of falling behind.

In the game of global integration, opportunities are equally divided among all countries, all depending on the attitude and determination of each country, the most important factor of which is the mindset mobilized from all sources of internal strength and solidarity of the whole nation.

Don't sit around blaming each other for falling behind.

Mr. Thang pondered: “In the past, Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, was proud to be the center of the whole region, honored as the Pearl of the Far East. Here, it is not a matter of titles or titles but of national pride and effort.

The city's lagging behind regional partners has both subjective and objective causes, but that cannot be an excuse for us to sit there blaming each other.

Whatever the reason and cause, it is making us all feel regretful, like a bitter truth that cannot be accepted."

The Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized: “I strongly urge the people of the entire city not to accept that fact as a kind of destiny. Our ancestors were not afraid of sacrifice and wrote the legend of the liberation war with the spirit of not accepting foreign domination as a destiny.

Today we are here to tell each other, to tell all the people of the city that we will strive together to do our best so that first of all Ho Chi Minh City continues to maintain its solid leading position, continues to lead the development of the entire southern region, continues to be the belief, the spiritual support for the cause of protecting the sacred territorial integrity and territorial waters of the fatherland."

However, according to Mr. Thang, we need to have a bigger aspiration to regain the city's position as the financial and scientific technology center of Southeast Asia.

Mr. Thang believes that with the dynamic, creative and united spirit of the people of the whole city, and the support of our heroic ancestors, we will definitely be able to do it.
