Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy attends the conference of the Military Region 4 Party Committee

The leaders of Nghe An province attended the conference with comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation. Also attending were the Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committees of Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and representatives of the Central Inspection Committee.

Maintain political stability and local security

In the first 6 months of 2024, under the leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission of the Ministry of National Defense, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 4 coordinated with the Party Committees and authorities of 6 provinces in the area to lead and direct the armed forces of the Military Region to complete military and defense targets and tasks and Party building, with many contents being excellently completed.

Notably, he has thoroughly and seriously implemented resolutions, directives and regulations of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on military and defense tasks; maintained and strictly implemented combat readiness regime; coordinated with forces to grasp and correctly assess the situation, promptly handle situations, and maintain political stability and local security.

The conference focused on discussing the implementation of military and defense tasks, contributing to socio-economic development in Military Region 4 in the last 6 months of 2024.

Speaking at the conference, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy assessed that in the first half of this year, besides the basic advantages, there were many difficulties and challenges. However, from the local perspective, it can be seen that the Party Committee and the Military Region 4 Command have led and directed the implementation of military and defense tasks well.

The command and coordination relationship between the Party Committee, the Command, the agencies of the Military Region with local Party committees and authorities, including Nghe An province, continues to be well maintained.

Thanks to the good performance of military and defense tasks; mastering and maintaining stability in the area, it has created favorable conditions for localities to focus on socio-economic development, especially in Nghe An province, with a growth rate of 6.76%, ranking 3rd in the North Central region and 26th in the country.

Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy informed the conference about some outstanding results in the implementation of military and defense tasks of the province in the first 6 months of this year, including continuing to direct good implementation, ensuring the plan and quality requirements assigned by the Central, Military Region, and Provincial Party Committee.

In particular, 460/460 military party cells in communes, wards and towns have been established and have initially operated in a disciplined manner, with clear progress in leadership capacity and combat strength.

The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee discussed a number of tasks for the last 6 months of the year, including the implementation of projects on expanding the administrative boundaries of Vinh city and rearranging commune-level administrative units in the province in the 2023-2025 period.

Accordingly, after completing the arrangement, the province will reduce 1 district-level administrative unit, Cua Lo town, and 48 commune-level administrative units (from 460 to 412). Accordingly, the relevant district-level and commune-level Military Commands will have to be dissolved and reorganized.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy suggested that during this process, he hoped that the Party Committee and the Military Region 4 Command would pay attention to directing and guiding effective implementation, soon stabilizing the organization and apparatus, ensuring smooth and stable consultation on local military and defense work.

The Provincial Party Secretary also requested that the Party Committee and the Military Region 4 Command continue to support the process of proposing to confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the Renewal Period on the provincial armed forces. The province will actively coordinate, provide information, and report fully when requested.

The Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee discussed and proposed a number of contents on advising the Central Committee to issue a strong enough political basis and legal corridor to build headquarters of commune-level Military Commands in localities.

Building a strong and comprehensive Party Committee of Military Region 4

Based on the discussion, the Party Committee of Military Region 4 agreed on the direction and solutions to carry out tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. The focus is to continue to lead the serious implementation of resolutions, conclusions, directives and regulations of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission on military and national defense.

Focus on leadership and direction of forces to grasp the situation, effectively handle situations, maintain political security and social order and safety. Coordinate and participate effectively in tasks of preventing, combating, overcoming consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, and rescue.

Strengthen measures to manage, operate, and direct training for subjects closely, ensuring quality; attach importance to inspection and evaluation of training results and organize drills, competitions, and sports events at all levels closely and safely.

Focus on leadership to improve the quality of building a strong and comprehensive unit "Exemplary and typical". Closely and effectively coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to focus on leadership to build a strong national defense; build provincial and district defense areas in the increasingly solid defense posture of the Military Region.

Prepare well for Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Military Region 4 Armed Forces; build a strong Military Region Party Committee in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres, successfully completing all tasks assigned by the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense and People.
