Traffic signs placed 'wrongly', thousands of people lost their way

(Baonghean.vn) - Every day, thousands of people get lost on the inter-commune road to Kim Thanh, Hung Thanh and the 6th Youth Volunteer Team (Yen Thanh) because of a "wrongly" placed traffic sign.

From Highway 48 E, turn into Kim Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) which is a flat asphalt road. After about 1 km, you will see a 3-way intersection with a traffic sign showing 2 arrows, one straight arrow is to go to the Youth Volunteer Force 6, the other arrow turns right to go to Hung Thanh Commune.

However, every day, many people get lost because following this direction will lead to the Kim Thanh Commune People's Committee headquarters, not Hung Thanh. Drivers have to turn around to ask for directions. As for the way to Hung Thanh, from the sign, you have to continue about 100 meters to reach a 3-way intersection to turn right.

Mr. Nguyen Van To, a refrigerated truck driver transporting seafood to Hung Thanh commune, just got lost and had to turn around and say indignantly: "The road is one way, but the signposts are another way, making us lost."

Mr. Nguyen Van Quan - Chairman of Kim Thanh Commune People's Committee also said: "This route was completed in 2015, with the district as the investor. After completion, the construction unit placed signs. Since the sign was placed, many vehicles have gotten lost. We will propose a plan to the relevant authorities to either move the sign to the correct section of the road turning into Hung Thanh Commune, or re-annotate the sign, specifically drawing an additional road to the kindergarten, the stadium and a road to Hung Thanh."

Mr. Tran Nam, a resident near the sign, said: This inter-commune road leads to Hung Thanh commune, and can go to Tuan and Quynh Chau communes (Quynh Luu), so the traffic volume is very large. Every day, thousands of vehicles get lost, crawling into the stadium and then returning. If we calculate the cost of gasoline each day, it is quite a lot. It is really dangerous to bury the "wrong" sign./.
