Jade sea, human love and heaven's will!
While I was watering my wife's plants, I saw my high school friend call:
- Cua Lo, Trieu?
- It's so vast, who are the representatives?
- Then it's just a few of us from class 12G, want to go?
- Let's go, no need to be afraid of anyone, hehe!
It was true that "good people get what they pay for", I happily ran into the house to report to my wife (who was lying down painting her nails), and then the family excitedly prepared to leave.
Cua Lo has changed a lot recently, the roads are clear, every now and then you see banners and bright flashing lights, welcoming tourists on the occasion of the April 30 holiday and the Cua Lo River Festival. On the main road running along the coast, tourists are busy riding bicycles and electric cars, groups of tourists walk across the street, going to the beach which is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. I went to the hotel my friend had arranged, saw the whole group sitting and chatting, quickly checked in and then went to a restaurant on the beach.
The sun began to set, sitting and eating fresh seafood with the salty smell of the sea, watching the sunset on the sea, listening to the cool breeze under the shade of coconut trees like this, there was nothing better. At night, there were still a few people going swimming at night, a kite someone had just released fluttering in the air made the scene even more poetic, my wife happily leaned her head on my shoulder, no longer having to be annoyed by the street vendors "terrorizing" customers like before. I admit that Cua Lo has changed a lot recently, my wife and children smile brightly like flowers, making me happy too. Like this, tonight I will go to the Phom club meeting with my comrades without worrying about my wife nagging, hehe.
The next morning, I had just staggered back to my room because I was tired from fanning myself all night, when I saw my wife frowning: It's raining. The weather was so nice last night, why is it raining like crazy this morning? Poor my wife happily woke up early, wearing a brand new swimsuit. I looked over to my friends' family's room and saw that all the houses were in the same situation, so we had no choice but to hold up an umbrella, go to the beach to have breakfast, then... play cards, and watch the rain.
Yesterday, Cua Lo was bustling and bustling, but today it was quiet and deserted. The women selling shrimp, crab, fish, and squid, holding pots, wearing hats and raincoats, walked leisurely past the shops that were a bit deserted than usual. Occasionally, customers waved at them, and they smiled, a rare smile, but still tinged with sadness. Instead of chattering and noisily inviting customers, the women gathered in groups, standing a distance away, watching customers buy, sell, choose, and wait for their turn. The food stall owners were no longer as enthusiastic and energetic as usual, but sat dejectedly, probably wondering when the rain would stop. When we asked the owner of the shop where our group was sitting, she honestly said in a thick "fish has a tail, eggplant has a stem" accent:
- We are just preparing, but almost every year on April 30th, Cua Lo rains. There are few guests in Vinh, mainly from other provinces, guests from surrounding districts who book rooms in advance. At most, it rains in the morning and clears in the afternoon, then guests in Vinh come down to have dinner and walk on the beach at night. This year there are also fireworks, but God has no mercy on us. If it rains like this, what's the point of fireworks?
Only then do we realize that not everything we calculate and prepare carefully will be successful. We keep blaming our province's abundant tourism resources but the revenue from tourism is not high, not because of insufficient investment or not going to the right place, but because everything must have favorable location and favorable weather. With the harsh and erratic climate of our province, the tourism industry in particular and production and economic activities in general are of course more or less affected. It must be recognized that Cua Lo is not inferior to other famous beaches in the country (in some places, our hometown's sea is even better), but the reason why Cua Lo has not yet developed its full potential is not only due to people but also due to the weather (Cua Lo cannot be compared with Nha Trang, Vung Tau, places where sea tourism activities take place bustlingly all year round thanks to the advantage of climate).
It cannot be said that our family trip to Cua Lo during this holiday was perfect. We were disappointed and disappointed, but what we learned was sympathy for the objective difficulties in the development of the tourism industry in particular and the economy of our province in general. From that, we love and admire even more the patience, perseverance, and hard work of the people in the coastal tourism area, who have worked hard to overcome the difficulties of God so that Cua Lo can be worthy of the title "jade sea, human love"!
