It can be said that fresh water is an extremely urgent problem for humanity, while seawater is very available. That is why at ISEF 2012, in addition to the project of the Vietnamese team, there are many other projects with the theme of treating salt water into fresh water. The Vietnamese student team said that they were the first to approach this using low pressure technology and solar energy. The advantages of this research project are that it has a good impact on the environment, the construction technique is not complicated and the cost is quite cheap, easy to implement in the community.
In Vietnam, this research project surpassed thousands of research topics to win first prize in the national science and technology competition ViSEF in 2012. The project of the Vietnamese team is even more relevant when many countries in the world are very interested in the issue of finding new energy sources.
