Nghe An Border Guard rewards many outstanding individuals

On March 10, the Party Committee and Command of the Nghe An Border Guard held a conference to review Party work, political work, and Border Guard work in the first quarter of 2019. Colonel Tran Hai Binh - Commander; Colonel Le Nhu Cuong - Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the Border Guard co-chaired the conference.

According to the report of Nghe An Border Guard, in the first quarter of 2019, the subordinate units have done a good job of patrolling, controlling and protecting the border system, landmarks and sea areas. Effectively carried out search and rescue work, helping people overcome the consequences of accidents. Effectively fought against all types of crimes (especially fireworks, explosives, drugs).

During the Lunar New Year, the Provincial Border Guard sent 74 teams/211 officers and soldiers to the area to celebrate Tet with the people and give gifts worth more than 125 million VND.

Implementing the program "Tet for the poor", the Provincial Border Guard Command has raised 335 million VND, organized the donation of 659 gifts to policy families, families with special difficulties, and poor households in the border area; Border guards organized the program "Border Guard Spring warms the hearts of the villagers" at 23 locations, wrapping more than 1,800 banh chung to give to poor households. In particular, the staff coordinated with the locality to organize practical and effective activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Border Guard's tradition day and the 30th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day (March 3, 2019).

At this conference, the Provincial Border Guard Command also proposed a number of key tasks in the second quarter of 2019 such as advising the Provincial Party Committee to develop an Action Program, the Provincial People's Committee to develop a plan to implement Resolution 33-NQ/TW, dated September 28, 2018 of the Politburo on the National Border Protection Strategy; Organizing the management and strict protection of borders, sea areas, and assigned areas according to the law, agreements, border management regulations and Vietnam - Laos land border gates....

At the conference, the Border Guard Command awarded 25 individuals with outstanding achievements in performing tasks in the first quarter of 2019, especially activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Border Guard's tradition day and the 30th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day.
