(Baonghean.vn) - National Highway 46B from Vinh City through Hung Nguyen to Nam Dan (Nghe An) has been and is being turned into a "private yard" by people to dry rice and straw.
During the spring rice harvest season, National Highway 46A, from Bac Vinh Industrial Park in Hung Dong Commune, Vinh City to the intersection of National Highway 46 (in front of Haivina Kim Lien Company Limited) was turned into a "private yard" by people to dry rice and straw, spoiling the landscape and posing many potential risks of traffic accidents.
According to observations, rice is mainly dried in the lane for small vehicles. However, there are many places where rice is dried on the lane for cars. In particular, to avoid people and vehicles from entering the rice, people use rice sacks, bricks, stones, and wood to "enclose" the drying area, causing the lane through this section to be much narrower.
When asked, a resident passing through Dai Dong village, Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district shared: "Although we know that drying rice on the street is not right, but because all the rice has been harvested from the fields, and the sun is shining brightly, if we don't dry it, it will rain and all the rice will be ruined."
Passing this road, Mr. Cao Xuan Tung, in Nam Dan, was upset: “Every harvest season, not only National Highway 46B but also many provincial, district and communal roads are turned into private drying yards by people. Passing these roads is very dangerous, if you are not focused, traffic accidents can happen at any time. I hope the local authorities will propagate the harmful effects of this action so that people can raise awareness.”
