At the conference, the Conference report commending collectives and individuals who have done well in the work of "Repaying gratitude" and exemplary meritorious people, commemorating the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day was presented by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stating: Over the past 65 years, the work of war invalids, martyrs and meritorious people has always received the attention of Party committees, authorities and the whole society. Mechanisms and policies to honor, give incentives and care for meritorious people have been well organized and implemented. The work of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains, building and renovating cemeteries and martyrs' temples has been taken care of by the whole society. The system of facilities serving the care, health care and rehabilitation of war invalids, martyrs' families and meritorious people has been increasingly strengthened. Up to now, most of the meritorious people and their relatives in the province have enjoyed preferential treatment in health care, education and training, job creation, and housing improvement; 465/480 communes, wards, and towns have been recognized as communes, wards, and towns that have done a good job in the work of war invalids, martyrs, and meritorious people; 100% of the surviving Vietnamese heroic mothers have been well cared for; nearly 100% of families of the meritorious people have an average or higher standard of living, many families have actively worked in production, become rich legitimately, and actively participated in social work...

During the conference, delegates listened to presentations, expressed opinions, shared and rejoiced in the successes of outstanding contributors; exchanged experiences to replicate advanced models in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example, as well as patriotic emulation movements, gratitude movements, contributing to political and social stability, promoting economic growth, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Pham Thi Hai Chuyen - Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs warmly welcomed and commended the achievements of Nghe An province in doing a good job in the work of war invalids and martyrs, taking care of people with meritorious services over the past years - being the leading province in the country in the movement of "Repaying gratitude". In his response speech, Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, thanked the attention, help, as well as the good evaluation of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. Comrade Phan Dinh Trac hoped that the sectors and localities in the province would continue to promote the work they have done to properly, fully and promptly implement the preferential policies of the Party, the State and the province for people with meritorious services to the revolution in the whole province; continue to promote propaganda to raise awareness of all cadres, party members and people about the movement of gratitude, mobilizing all resources to better care for people with meritorious services. Specifically, those working for people with meritorious services from the provincial to grassroots levels must make efforts and uphold their responsibilities in mastering and implementing policies and laws for people with meritorious services; the labor, war invalids and social affairs sector needs to coordinate well with districts, cities and towns to improve the qualifications of staff working in caring for war invalids and martyrs, review the remaining subjects who have not yet enjoyed the regimes and policies of the State, combat cases of forgery to receive regimes for people with meritorious services; quickly and effectively carry out the issuance and exchange of certificates of merit from the Fatherland. All cadres, party members and people need to further raise awareness, create conditions to help families of people with meritorious services, especially poor and near-poor households, and solve jobs for children of people with meritorious services...

On this occasion, the Government awarded Emulation Flags to 12 collectives that have excellently and comprehensively fulfilled their tasks, leading the patriotic emulation movement of Nghe An province in 2011; the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs awarded certificates of merit to 28 collectives and 07 individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the work of "Repaying gratitude"; awarded certificates of merit to 23 individuals who have overcome difficulties to achieve outstanding achievements in labor and production. The People's Committee of Nghe An province also awarded certificates of merit to 38 collectives and 68 individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the work of "Repaying gratitude", contributing to the cause of building and developing the economy of the province.
