Binh Phuoc: Passenger bus overturned on highway, 20 people injured

A bus packed with passengers was traveling at high speed when it lost control, causing dozens of passengers and the bus to flip over. The incident occurred at 1:15 p.m. on February 25 on National Highway 14 in Dong Tam Commune, Dong Phu District, Binh Phuoc Province.

The 29-seat passenger van with license plate 47B – 000.11 driven by driver Do Van Hung (born in 1970, from Dien Ban district, Quang Nam) was packed with passengers departing from Dak Lak to Ho Chi Minh City.

Arriving in Binh Phuoc province, after stopping to let passengers rest, driver Hung continued to drive at high speed on Highway 14.

However, when it reached km15, in Hamlet 2, Dong Tam Commune, Dong Phu District, the car suddenly lost control, swayed, and swerved continuously for more than 100m, then suddenly pulled the driver, passengers, and luggage into two consecutive somersaults, causing the people in the car to panic and scream in fear.

The car only stopped after it crossed into the opposite lane, next to the ditch.

The accident completely damaged the vehicle, 20 passengers were seriously injured and had to be hospitalized at Binh Phuoc General Hospital.

Fortunately, no one was killed in this accident.


Traffic police and Dong Phu District Police promptly arrived, examined the scene, took witness statements to investigate and clarify.
