In a document posted on the website of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the German car company said that the recall of a certain number of Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S vehicles from the 2005-2008 model years is expected to be implemented from May 1.
BMW said the front passenger airbag may not deploy due to a defect in the seat-detection mat. The German automaker said the part will be replaced as part of the recall. The automaker also confirmed that it has only received one report of a minor passenger injury, possibly caused by the defect./.
