Provincial Military Command deploys tasks of natural disaster prevention, fire and explosion prevention and search and rescue
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (March 25), the Provincial Military Command held a conference to review the work of preventing natural disasters, fires, forest fires, search and rescue; and guarding work in 2020.
Attending the conference were comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of departments, branches, sectors, units of the Army, Police and Border Guard located in Nghe An province.

In 2020, Nghe An province was directly affected by 21 tornadoes and hailstorms; circulation of 2 storms (No. 5 and No. 9); 30 fires and explosions, 29 forest fires and 36 river and sea accidents and drowning. Natural disasters, storms, floods, forest fires and drowning killed 47 people, injured 12 people, 94 communes and wards in 9 districts were flooded, thousands of houses collapsed, had their roofs blown off and were flooded, with estimated damage of hundreds of billions of VND.

In the spirit of being proactive and fully prepared in terms of forces, means, and logistics to carry out the tasks of natural disaster prevention, mitigation, search and rescue, the Provincial Military Command has advised the Provincial People's Committee to seriously and effectively implement plans and activities for flood and storm prevention, search and rescue, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
In 2020, the provincial armed forces and military units stationed in the area mobilized more than 23,000 people, along with hundreds of cars, rescue boats, and many vehicles to help people evacuate from flooded areas, search and rescue, and prevent fires and explosions. Concluding the conference, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Commander of the Provincial Military Command emphasized: In 2021, the weather forecast in the province is expected to continue to have many complicated developments, with many potential risks of storms, floods, fires, forest fires, etc. Therefore, it is required that agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command and military units stationed in the area continue to perform well their duties of guarding and guarding, closely coordinating with localities in ensuring political security, social order and safety.
