In particular, the Nghe An Border Guard has constantly strengthened that special relationship with the armed forces of the neighboring Lao provinces that share the border, including Xieng Khouang province. In recent times, the Nghe An Border Guard has closely coordinated with the Xieng Khouang Provincial Military Command to effectively carry out border patrol, control and protection; renovate and increase the density of border markers on the Vietnam - Laos border; propagate and mobilize people on both sides of the border to effectively implement the Border Agreements and Regulations; promptly handle issues related to both sides of the border and coordinate to carry out a number of activities on the occasion of the "Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year".
