(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 14, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of comrade Tran Quoc Hoan (January 23, 1916 - January 23, 2016), the Organizing Committee of the Celebration, the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held a flower and incense offering ceremony at the comrade's memorial house in Nam Trung commune, Nam Dan.

He joined the revolutionary movement in 1930 and became a member of the Indochinese Communist Party at the age of 18. He was an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, a staunch communist soldier, a senior leader of the Party, and devoted his whole life to the country and the people. He was also a model of pure revolutionary morality, a talented and excellent leader of the Vietnam People's Public Security.

During his lifetime, comrade Tran Quoc Hoan was imprisoned by the French colonialists twice in 1934 and 1941. He also held many important leadership positions such as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Minister of Public Security, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, etc. From 1972-1982, comrade Tran Quoc Hoan was a member of the Politburo and a National Assembly delegate from the 2nd to the 7th terms.
In recognition of his great contributions, the Party and State awarded him the Gold Star Order and many other noble awards.
