Ministry of Public Security awards special project to arrest drug lord with hot weapons in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 21, Colonel Vu Van Dong, Deputy Director of the Police Political Department (Ministry of Public Security) led a working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security to Tuong Duong district (Nghe An) to award and encourage officers and soldiers who successfully solved the case coded 1216M, arresting a drug lord with a hot weapon.
Previously, on July 14, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, signed a decision to reward officers and soldiers of Tuong Duong District Police 10 million VND and to reward Lieutenant Dau Trong Cuong and Lieutenant Nguyen Van Lam (officers of the Criminal, Economic, and Drug Team, Tuong Duong District Police) who were injured while on duty, 5 million VND each.
On the afternoon of July 21, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the leaders of the General Department of Police, Colonel Vu Van Dong presented flowers, commended and awarded the Special Investigation Team of Tuong Duong District Police.
At the same time, visit, give gifts and awards to Lieutenant Cuong and Lieutenant Lam who are receiving HIV exposure prevention treatment at the Preventive Medicine Center of Tuong Duong district.

As reported by Nghe An newspaper, at 2:00 p.m. on June 21, Tuong Duong District Police successfully broke up Project 1216M, arresting "boss" Luong Ba Duy (born in 1986, residing in Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district) who was on the run from a wanted warrant, illegally buying, selling, and possessing drugs, and illegally possessing military weapons. When arrested, Duy fiercely resisted and threatened to shoot back at the police force. Lieutenant Cuong and Lieutenant Lam were not afraid of danger, promptly rushed in to knock down and take away the gun, and arrested Duy. Evidence seized at the scene included: 5 packages of crystal meth, 100 pink pills, 1 K59 gun, and 2 sports guns.

| Searching Duy's residence and underground bunker, the investigation agency of Tuong Duong District Police seized more than 2,300 synthetic drug pills, 500 grams of heroin, 4 homemade mines, 1 grenade; 2 AK guns and 64 bullets; 10 homemade hunting guns that shoot sports bullets and 26 bullets; dozens of homemade hunting guns, electric batons and many knives and swords of various types; 3 motorbikes, 2 mobile phones and 30,000,000 VND in cash; 3 cameras installed by Duy at his residence and underground bunker to serve the purpose of buying and selling drugs. |
Recently, despite being on the run for a warrant for illegal drug trafficking, Duy has purchased guns, bullets, knives, installed cameras around his house, and dug tunnels through mountains, ready to escape to continue illegally trading drugs.
