Nghe An Border Guard receives the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the second time
On the morning of February 25, in Vinh City, the Party Committee - Command of the Border Guard of Nghe An province solemnly held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the second time and celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day and the 25th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of February 25, in Vinh City, the Party Committee - Command of the Border Guard of Nghe An province solemnly held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the second time and celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day and the 25th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day.
Attending the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Border Guard; comrades: Phan Dinh Trac, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Hoang Xuan Luong, Deputy Minister, Deputy Head of the Government Ethnic Affairs Commission and representatives of a number of departments and staffs of the General Department of Politics (Ministry of National Defense), the Border Guard Command and Military Region 4.
On the provincial side, there were comrades: Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of localities in the province. Also attending the ceremony were representatives of the Border Guard Commands of the provinces sharing the border with Nghe An of Laos: Hua Phan, Boli Kham Xay, Xieng Khouang and generations of cadres and generals who were former Commanders of the Nghe - Tinh Border Guards through the periods.

The speech of the Provincial Border Guard Command reviewed the 55-year journey of building and growing the Nghe An Border Guard force, highlighting its outstanding achievements in building and protecting the border. Along with maintaining security and order at the border, Nghe An Border Guard has crushed the plots of infiltration and sabotage of the border by hostile forces; coordinated and helped the Border Guard forces of the three Lao provinces to effectively fight against all kinds of crimes, contributing to strengthening the force and building a peaceful and friendly border.
In the new period, especially from 2002 to present, Nghe An Border Guard has made many outstanding achievements in the Emulation Movement to Win; helping people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, propagating and educating the law and building cultural life for people in border areas. Many collectives and individuals of the force have been awarded the title of Hero of the Armed Forces and many other noble awards.
Authorized by the President, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense awarded the title of Hero of the Armed Forces to Nghe An Border Guard. On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented the Border Guard with a banner with the inscription: "Nghe An Border Guard - united, intelligent, brave, overcoming difficulties, excellently completing tasks, worthy of the title of Heroic Unit of the Armed Forces for the second time"

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, thanked the Party Committee and people of Nghe An for their attention and support to the Border Guard force; at the same time, he acknowledged and congratulated the growth of the Nghe An Border Guard force. The Senior Lieutenant General hoped that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command would pay more attention to political and ideological education and training for officers and soldiers in the spirit of Resolution 8 of the Central Committee (11th tenure) on the strategy of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation; regularly grasp the situation, train for combat readiness, and always complete assigned tasks.
